The Courtauld Gallery
Repetitive Individuals Watching
A piece about the space of a gallery, the many people looking at the same paintings, focusing on their own worlds of perception. One after another seeing the same scene, sometimes overlapping when strangers appear at the same painting, only to move on at different paces, individually.
I initially intended to focus on the only work in this room knowingly created by a woman, but I felt as with many things, music and art are overthought, overanalysed, I believe that art can give a lot more when you focus on the experience of seeing it and not feeling an overwhelming necessity to understand it.
